Tuesday Slide Clinic (Nate re-Learns how to skate)

Due to the Heinous rules of Seattle City Parks, No Person, Organization, or business is allowed to organize recreational outdoor activities inside the parameters of a Seattle City Park without a permit. Yes, you are required by law to pull a permit if you walk around a park with a friend, you need to pull a permit if you plan to sun tan on a grassy field, and you certainly need a permit to teach people to safely ride a skateboard.

Which is why we do not teach a slide clinic anymore at the Washington Park Arboretum.

So... Every Tuesday during the summer from 6pm - Dusk You can come to the Washington Park Arboretum and do your own unorganized longboarding activity. We are not telling anyone to meet up, and we definitely are not organizing outdoor recreation in a Seattle City Park. If you skate near us, it is important to remember that this is not organized, intentional, or a meetup.

Every Tuesday the owner of the shop likes to refresh his skills at the ARBORETUM. He likes to practice slowing down using footbraking techniques and sliding techniques. The pavement in the Arboretum is smooth, and consistent and doesnt have any curbs for the owner to hurt himself on while he rebuilds his confidence.

Musts- The owner will be wearing a helmet and slide gloves and encourages anyone who rides a longboard to do the same when they skate in other places.
It is strongly advised to bring slide gloves, pads, and other gear to help prevent road rash whenever you skate. Sliding wheels will make it a lot easier to learn how to break traction, and will speed up the learning curve and tone down the difficulty.

MOTION BOARDSHOP IS NOT ORGANIZING ANY EVENTS AND WE ARE NOT ENCOURAGING ANYONE TO SHOW UP. IF YOU DO, IT IS A COINCIDENCE, BECAUSE WE ARE NOT ORGANIZING ANYTHING.

The Parking Location that the owner likes is at the following address:
2300 Arboretum Dr E, Seattle, WA 98112

Once you have parked you can head south on ARBORETUM DRIVE E towards the Japanese Maples, and you will be at the bottom of the hill that people like to go to on their own time, and their own schedule.
